Features
Everything you need.
Nothing behind a paywall.
A complete API development toolkit — request building, testing, mocking, documentation and collaboration — free for everyone, across every protocol Voyager supports.
01
Build
Compose any request, against any protocol.
- 14 protocols REST, GraphQL, SOAP, WebSocket, Socket.IO, SSE, MQTT, FTP, SFTP, SMTP, TCP, UDP, gRPC and PostgreSQL, each with a builder shaped for it.
- Request builder Method, URL, params, headers, body, auth, scripts and tests in separate editors. Query params stay in sync with the URL.
- Body editors JSON (comments and trailing commas allowed), XML, HTML, JavaScript and text in Monaco, plus form-data and URL-encoded fields. One-click beautify.
- Authentication Bearer token, Basic auth, API key in a header or query string, and OAuth 2.0 client credentials.
- Environments & secrets Unlimited environments, {{variable}} highlighting with hover previews, and secret values that are masked and withheld from viewers.
- Scratch requests Start typing without choosing a collection; file the request away later.
02
Inspect
Understand exactly what came back.
- Response viewer Pretty, raw and preview modes, headers, parsed cookies, search, copy and download — with status, time and size on every response.
- Message logs Streaming protocols show every sent and received message, event or datagram in a live timeline.
- Request history Every send is recorded, and any past request reopens in one click.
03
Test
Make requests prove things.
- Pre-request scripts Prepare data and set variables in JavaScript before a request is sent.
- Tests & assertions test(name, fn) assertions against status, headers and body, with pass/fail and console output beside the response.
- Sandboxed runtime Scripts run in an isolated QuickJS runtime with a time limit.
04
Move
Get work in, and get it out.
- Import Postman, Insomnia, Thunder Client and OpenAPI/Swagger, detected automatically — or paste a cURL command.
- Export Export a request or a whole collection as JSON, or copy any REST request as cURL.
- Code generation cURL, JavaScript (fetch), Node.js (axios), Python (requests) and Java (HttpClient), with variables resolved.
- API documentation Generate a self-contained HTML documentation page from any collection.
05
Simulate
Don’t wait on the backend.
06
Collaborate
Work together without a seat price.
- Free account Sharing & roles Share workspaces, collections, folders, requests or environments with people or teams as Admin, Editor or Viewer.
- Free account Teams Teams with Owner, Admin and Member roles, invitations by email or link, and ownership transfer.
- Free account Activity & notifications An activity feed of changes and in-app notifications with an unread count.
- Free account Cloud sync Sign in and your workspace follows you across web, VS Code and desktop.
07
Flow
Stay in the zone.
- Command palette Search saved requests and run workspace, environment and appearance commands from ⌘K.
- Keyboard shortcuts Send, save, search, toggle the sidebar and more without the mouse.
- Themes & layout Light, dark or system themes; side-by-side or stacked request and response panels.

Feature questions
Are any of these features paid?
No. Every feature on this page is available to every user for free. There is no paid tier or feature gating.
Which features need an account?
Only the cloud ones: sync, sharing, teams, activity and notifications, plus the relay the web app uses for FTP, SFTP, SMTP, TCP and UDP. Everything else works without signing up.
Does Voyager have a collection runner or monitors?
Not yet. Scheduled runs, monitoring and a CLI runner for CI are on the roadmap. Today, tests run per request when you send it.
